How To Get Wrinkles Out Of A Silk Tie

Silk is a very delicate material and can get damaged very easily by taking a hot iron to it. Let's face it ties get wrinkled from time to time. You know how it goes; you get home late from that awesome party after having a little too much to drink. You get home rip off your shirt and tie and throw it on the floor. Or if you're lucky you arrive home with that cute blond at the end of the bar. In this scenario are you really going to take the time to hang your tie?

It doesn't take long for a silk tie to catch a couple of ugly wrinkles after sitting on the floor all night.

Eliminating those nasty creases is not as hard as you might think. Simply grab a thin piece of fabric. Maybe an old tee shirt you don't mind cutting up. Next set your irons setting to the silk level. Lay your tie on a flat hard surface and place the fabric over the top completely covering the entire surface of the tie.

Next lightly move the iron over the fabric back and forth checking the tie every two strokes. It's important to not press too hard or leave the iron on one spot for long periods of time.

That's it, now remove the time and hang it on a tie rack or roll it and place in a drawer.
